In the latest entry in his NY Film Festival video diary, filmmaker Jamie Stuart features a little more personal journey--and not just to the Walter Reade Theater. Between interludes with Woman on the Beach director Hong Sang-soo, Carla Del Poggio (widow of Mafioso director Alberto Lattuada) and some mildly redundant face-time with The Queen's Helen Mirren, Stuart travels deep into Queens to... pay his phone bill? I hardly know where to draw a parallel, but that seems beside the point, especially with any short film climaxing with the voiceover "Fags and Guinness" on close-ups of Stephen Frears.
These will be a Criterion Collection extra someday, mark my words.
