Tribeca Madness on The Reeler

As you may (or may soon) have noticed over the last week, The Reeler has been the unofficial go-to spot for coverage of Tribeca '07:

--In our Screening Room section, critics Michelle Orange, Vadim Rizov and Eric Kohn have already reviewed over 100 Tribeca features, by far the most of any publication covering the festival. And they've found a relatively surprising number of dandies compared to previous years, including Shotgun Stories, The Hammer, The Cake Eaters, Amexicano, Chops, Doubletime, Anita O'Day: The Life of a Jazz Singer, Chavez, The Grand and Blue State. As of this writing, none of these films have US distribution deals.

--In our video show ReelerTV, I've interviewed filmmakers and actors including Fred Durst and Jesse Eisenberg (The Education of Charlie Banks), Zak Penn (The Grand), Michael Kang (West 32nd) and Seth Gordon (The King of Kong) among others. Forthcoming this week: actors Eva Mendes (Live!) and Anton Yelchin (Charlie Bartlett).

--In our Director Spotlight sidebar, we've been focusing on Tribeca's women filmmakers including Talia Lugacy (Descent), Abby Epstein (The Business of Being Born), Beth Murphy (Beyond Belief) and many others.

--On The Tribeca Blog, we've found time to check in at panels, press conferences and elsewhere to follow up on other stories shaking down around the festival.

--And of course I went out to the Spider-Man 3 premiere in Astoria, which would be best described as bedlam.

And there's plenty more from panels, press conferences, screenings and elsewhere... Check it out here.
