Of Plympton, Poultry and the Pioneer

As promised by the evil genius Dr. Reinhardt van Nostrand in his earlier interview with The Reeler, animator Bill Plympton was in the house Wednesday night to introduce and discuss the week-long run of his revenge comedy freak-out Hair High. Pioneer programmer Ray Privett sends along the above scene from the film's East Village bow, certain to repeat itself in varying levels of fucked-upness as Plympton attends screenings tonight through Sunday. And bonus! Ticketholders receive an original sketch from the Oscar nominee -- hardly a bad deal for $10. But, you know: popular demand for gore-toons, cheerleaders and giant, aroused chickens means tickets are going fast. Just had to put that out there.

Screenings are scheduled for 9 p.m. tonight through Sunday, with addtional 11 p.m. shows Friday and Saturday; check the Pioneer's Web site for more information.
