I'm not a big "Holy-Christ-here's-a-first-look-at-this-great-movie-poster-enjoy-it-
while-I-dry-my-pants" kind of blogger, but there is something kind of striking and exotic about the new one-sheet for Ang Lee's latest film Lust, Caution, which opens Sept. 28 in New York. Perhaps it's the WKW-tinged period flashback (and spare me the hate mail -- I know this is Shanghai, Wong is Hong Kong, etc.) or the first-of-its-grammatical-kind title featuring two nouns and little else. Or the sepia-toned space that implies in all that's old and sexy, terrible things are happening not far outside the frame. Or wondering what's in the handbag. Whatever. I guess I'm trying to say it's derivative, but I kind of like it.
You've probably guessed by now that it's a slow news day.
