MoMI Featuring Best Warhol Revival Ever

(Photo: Jack Mitchell)

By S.T. VanAirsdale

An attentive reader evidently looking forward to this fall's Warhol's World series at the Museum of the Moving Image did a double-take upon reading the list of former Warhol associates set to attend the screenings:

A major retrospective of the films directed and produced by Andy Warhol, with personal appearances by his friends and collaborators, including Brigid Berlin, Baby Jane Holzer, Ultra Violet, Cherry Vanilla, and Jackie Curtis.

Alas, this just in from the one-stop pop resource Warhol Stars:

Jackie Curtis died on May 15, 1985 of a heroin overdose at the age of 38.

Here's hoping whatever technique MoMI is practicing on Ms. Curtis (nee John Holder Jr.) can perhaps be applied to Warhol himself for the kind of historic revival his work really deserves. Come to think of it, a Velvet Underground reunion wouldn't be half-bad either; does anyone know where they're keeping Sterling Morrison?
