Lower Your Voice: Nathan Lee Laid Off For "Economic Reasons"

Among the New York films and filmmakers sprinkled throughout the South by Southwest '07 lineup (no Sundance-level tally, but you can't go too far afield with premieres by guys like Andrew Berends, Michael Tully and Aaron Katz), one selection deserves special mention this morning: The 50-minute feature doc Fish Kill Flea, co-directed by Cinephiliac blogger and Reeler/IFC News/Premiere Mag contributor Aaron Hillis. "Once thriving, a dead mall in upstate New York is now home to a ragtag flea market, living proof that the American Dream is in perpetual decay," notes the SXSW program in its description; the film's site and its nifty trailer are both here.
Congrats to Hillis and partners Jennnifer Loeber and Brian Cassidy, and best of luck to them in Austin; give the film a glimpse for me and send along reactions if any of you get the chance.
