Shadows Stretch a Little Longer

Word just in from Film Forum notes that Jean-Pierre Melville's 1969 French Resistance tale Army of Shadows -- which waited 37 years for its first American theatrical engagement last summer -- is making a two-week encore starting Dec. 29. This has more than a little to do with its backdooring into the New York Film Critics Circle's Best Foreign Film award (as well as its special recognition from critics in Los Angeles), but really, that's neither here nor there. If you haven't seen it, then your delinquent cinephile ass is expected to turn out. Check FF's site for more info.
