Teasing Sidney: New Lumet Clips Surface

A tip of the cap to GreenCine Daily and Fimoculous, via whom we got a look at a teaser for Sidney Lumet's upcoming drama Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. We've been keeping an eye on this since it went into production locally last year; the NSFW clips feature Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Ethan Hawke as brothers who plan a jewel heist from their own parents' Westchester storefront before tragedy strikes. Albert Finney appears as their vengeful father and Marisa Tomei femme-fatales it up topless.

No word yet on distribution for this one, though financier Capitol Pictures did just pick up a releasing arm in ThinkFilm not so long ago. It won't stay unclaimed -- publicly or privately -- for long; this is fall-festival/awards-season fodder all the way, and anyone even leaning an ear within inches of the ground can hear the buzz approaching.
