Emorgan on: Baby Mama Set for Tribeca Opener
By S.T. VanAirsdale
Marking a bit of a throwback after last year's eco-variety show starring Al Gore, Martin Scorsese and Jon Bon Jovi, the Tribeca Film Festival announced today that the Tina Fey/Amy Poehler comedy Baby Mama will open the festival April 23. The film, featuring "South Philly working girl" Poehler as the surrogate mother of well-to-do Fey's child, was shot mostly in New York with the NBC/Universal infrastructure behind it; "There is no way we will not get to the premiere on time,” quipped producer Lorne Michaels in a just-distributed press release. Baby Mama opens nationally April 25; the timing works quite brilliantly as well with the new Vanity Fair cover package featuring Fey, Poehler and other women comedians.
The remainder of the Tribeca slate will trickle out March 11 - 17, if not sooner; stay tuned here for more news as it becomes available.

from the massive ad campaign, this looks OK, but the trailer for another TFF film, The Auteur, looks hilarious.
